Gordon Tentrees returns May 24
A popular past performer in Skagway will be at the Glacier Lounge of the Westmark on Saturday, May 24. Gordie Tentrees is a Yukon artist who returned from a Europe and Scandinavia tour this winter. A former boxer, Tentrees is now gaining a reputation for his dynamic solo shows and full-band concerts which range from storytelling folk rants to swampy high-energy dirges. The Skagway show will be a solo performance you won't want to miss.
"Tentrees’ delivery is so relaxed and unpretentious it’s impossible to not get drawn into his world, sounding like a young John Prine." - NO DEPRESSION (Americana and Roots Music publication).

Reality TV casting opportunity
Officials from Orion Entertainment, one of America's leading lifestyle television producers, recently announced that the new series “Living Alaska” currently ranked as the highest rated program on HGTV out of 22 series for 2014, as an average of more than 1.6 million American households tuned in each airing.
“Living Alaska” follows families leaving the Lower 48 behind as they search for new property and a new reality in Alaska. According to a press release, the series combines “memorable characters, stunning visuals, and the unique off-the-grid lifestyle, elements that can only be found in the 49th state.”
Orion Entertainment is now casting for the next season. Visit the HGTV website to apply for the show.
Another Orion series, “Building Alaska,” continued its successful run on the DIY Network, ranking as the sixth highest rated series out of 27 programs in 2014.
“Building Alaska” follows three builders who work at remote locations under unforgiving conditions as they struggle to finish their projects despite the physical and emotional challenges of total isolation, harsh weather conditions, and dangerous wildlife.
Both series have received multiple year renewals, according to Orion.
Orion's “Kodiak” series will premiere on Discovery this month and two other Orion shows from Alaska will hit air this summer on National Geographic and Travel Channel.
