26th annual International Folk Festival and Spring Show of Winter Artwork

Skagway Arts Council kicks off spring with the 26th Annual International Folk Festival and 4th Annual Spring Show of Winter Work on Friday, April 20, 2012.
The event starts at 5 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall behind the church on Main Street at 5th Avenue with a potluck. Bring a dish to pass, mingle with musicians, and be among the first to view art created by Skagway residents during the preceding winter months.
Art will be on display from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, and the Folk Festival begins in the sanctuary that same evening at 7 p.m., with music sure to please all ages! Musicians hail from Whitehorse, Tagish, Juneau and even further. Some of the talent that are currently signed up are: Tommy Dahill, Nathan Weiler, Rachel Ford, Ashley Leggett, Nola Lamken, Art Johns. Michael Baish, and Stuart Ely.
The Art Show continues in the Fellowship Hall from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 21.
