Smiley concert March 7
The Skagway Arts Council is excited to present Moira Smiley and VOCO on stage at the Skagway School multi-purpose room on Wednesday, March 7 at 6:30 p.m.
VOCO is an all female singing group specializing in folk music and award-winning original music. Expect a lively concert with rompin' stompin' body percussion and warm wit. Moira Smiley leads an ensemble of extraordinary musicians who share a passion for spreading powerful, emotional music with lush vocal harmony, cello, accordion and banjo.
Admission is $10 for adults ($8 for Skagway Arts Council members), $5 for seniors (65 or over) and $5 for students.
A few spots are left in the Ukulele-making Workshop led by Chris Maggio at the Skagway School Shop on Feb 25-26 and Mar 3-4 from 10am to 4pm ($38). Another Earring-making Class will be held at the Skagway Library on Sunday, March 11 from 1to 3pm. Contact Kathy Wassman (612-0664) to sign up for either class or for more information.

Far North Conservation Film Festival coming
Everyone is invited to attend the Fourth Annual Far North Conservation Film Festival held in the National Park Service Auditorium at 2nd & Broadway on Friday, March 9 and Saturday, March 10.
A total of 12 movies will be shown for free over the course of two evenings. The movies will start at 6 p.m. on both nights and will conclude around 8:15 p.m. Conservation of wildlife, cultures, and wild places from around the world will be featured. Film titles for both nights will appear in the next issue.
