Report of males throwing rocks from a moving flatbed trailer at road signs along the Dyea road – officer responded unable to locate individuals.
April 25
SPD received a call that a young female who seemed disoriented walked into their home. Female stated that she needed help and was lost and then wandered off. Officer responded unable to locate individual.
April 26
Officer contacted man who had been camped on the street in a RV on 17th Avenue & Main for a few nights. Officer advised him that he could not camp there. He is now waiting for housing to open up.
April 27
Dog was placed in the animal impound for bothering people– owner notified paid impound fees, was released and the dog is currently licensed.
April 28
Officer spoke with individual who walked into a resident’s home on April 25.The individual reported that the incident was alcohol related.
April 29
Report of a lost US Passport. Person retracing steps in an attempt to find it.
April 30
Public Works called SPD and reported that someone had dumped used motor oil in a garbage receptacle at 5.5 Avenue & Broadway. Officer responded and spoke with owner, who took three bags of garbage out in the morning and did not see any motor oil in trash and does not know who is dumping oil in his trash.
May 1
Fire Department responded to a EWS Fire Alarm at a downtown business. Vibration from overhead door may have set off detector.
May 2
Report of a lost wedding ring. It is gold with a marquise diamond and three baguette diamonds on each side.
May 3
Officer responding to a burglary alarm at a downtown business. The manager was notified, and after doing a complete walk through, there were no signs of activity.
Fire Department responding to a EWS Fire Alarm at a downtown business. An employee accidentally tripped the alarm.
May 4
Complaint received about solicitation of business and smoking on Broadway in front of business venue. Officer responded; spoke to individuals about Municipal Ordinance on both issues.
May 5
A report of suspicious persons planting a magnetized bottle cap with a screwed top at the Molly Walsh Park – Officer responded and after looking at bottle cap it was determined that it was a GEO stash for GPS tracking. Bottle cap was returned to original hiding place.
May 6
SPD assisting RCMP – Whitehorse in running wants/warrants and CA D/L Status on individual. – SPD
